RE: Anaheim Rally April 17-19 2009

O, that is one fried truck, was it hauling chicken, I mean fried chicken?
Glad to hear the driver was not killed, hopefully he will make a full recovery. I didn't watch the video but do they know what caused the accident?Yeah the van he hit was sitting dead stopped in the number 3 lane with no lights on, that driver did not get hurt at all as he was out of the van when it got hit, he is being charged with all kinds of citations. Yes he was hauling 40,000 pounds of meat and deli products headed to San Diego, it was about 5am when the accident happened and he started his shift at 3am and had a full load as he had not made any deliveries yet.

RE: Anaheim Rally April 17-19 2009

Hi Everyone,
I had been on vacation and out of town for a few weeks and I just found out that the company that I work for had a very serious accident while I was on vacation in Michigan, so I just found out on Tuesday night when I got back to work.
Click on the link and then click on the video link:
http://www.kusi.com/home/25880894.html
PS: No one passed away in this accident and the driver got out of the truck on his own without any burns, that in it's self is a miracle!
He is in critical condition but is expected to survive!

RE: Anaheim Rally April 17-19 2009

I was out back with the dogs as I just got home from Michigan Monday night and it shook hard enough here to knock me down but before the shake there was a very loud boom. It sure shook up the dogs. I was standing in front of the motorhome and it shook & moved alot. Didn't really knock much over and did not lose anything, had just a few things that moved a little.
I knew you were a little shakey and unstable. But to blame it on a little ole earthquake, now, come on!!!:B
Later,
Dave, you beat me to that one.....OK, Yes it rattled & rolled a little and a few screws fell out but I just picked them up and screwed my head back on strait or I think I did......LOL :S

RE: Added 2 ozs. of mineral oil to each house battery cell

Added the oil today and I'll keep track of how it goes.
I hope it cuts out all the corrosion and makes the batteries last longer then the 4 years that the last ones lasted.

RE: Added 2 ozs. of mineral oil to each house battery cell

A number of posters have reported positive results using oil. Has anyone reported negative results?
I would think that if there was any real benefit the battery manufacturer's would put it in themselves. would be cheap insurance.
sort of the same as these wonderful/miraculous gasoline savers, if GM could put a $2.98 gadget on a car and improve mileage, they would be doing it.
Of course, my uncle had a friend at work who knew somebody who's cousin knew of somebody who had a carburetor that got 400 mpg and Exxon bought it up and buried it. :p
bumpy
Not necessarily...Mfg's like planned obsolescence...not something that lasts too long...Yup, you got that right. They cannot continue to make money if it last forever, just for a few years. My last Trojan 105's lasted 4 years and they where still good when I put new ones in which I replaced the old ones because of the massive corrosion that I had going on around them, on them and in most of the battery compartment and I even have the special caps for the top of the batteries an have had them for the life of the batteries along with a charge wizard to keep the batteries from being over charged.

RE: Anaheim Rally April 17-19 2009

Happy to hear some is cool....... Tom said it was too hot up here, and it was hotter down there lol.
Its still raining in Oklahoma and we leave in a week, hope it stops.
I was working on the coach in the hot sun today fixing a few things, got about everything ready need to go shopping for food and fill some water jugs for coffee, and clean inside a little more and we are ready to go spend way to much for fuel. I have been looking into CNG(compressed Natural Gas) conversion, but no one can do the job or won't. New Engine $50,000.00 I don't believe anyone is even trying to find new ways to run cars or trucks.Hi Mac,
Over the last 15 years we have tried experimental units at work (Refers & Tractors) on CNG and they also seemed to have a lot of problems and malfunction so we are back to running just strait diesel units again. Of course we don't pay the diesel price at work that they pay at the pump, we buy it in bulk cause we have our own tanks.

RE: Added 2 ozs. of mineral oil to each house battery cell

Ok, I am very interested in this as I am having major battery corrosion problems around my batteries. Where do I find some good mineral oil for my batteries? And what brand is the best? Should I use 2oz per cell or 4oz per cell? These are Trojan 105's 6volt batteries.

Now it is sitting in the Anaheim hub waiting to be delivered Monday and YEP, We are NOT going to be home. GRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am going to call the place I bought them from and have them send the shipment someplace we will be... Shoulda Used FedEx.
Everyone have a good rest of the weekend. We are out of here for a while. It will be interesting to see what our total fuel bill will be. I will keep tabs.
L8TR.. MikeI hate to admit it but Brown has let me down many times! Damaged 4 of my 10 computers that where shipped. I never use brown anymore, it's Fedex or I don't buy it where it needs to be shipped. Try dealing with Brown's claim department, you talk about a nightmare.

RE: Anaheim Rally April 17-19 2009

'Will you give this to my Daddy?'
Last week I was in Atlanta Georgia attending a conference. While I
was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me
beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed
one of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen.
Moving thru the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camos. As they began heading to their gate, everyone (well almost everyone)was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering.
When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and
cheered for, it hit me. I'm not alone. I'm not the only red-blooded
American who still loves this country and supports our troops and their families.
Of course I immediately stopped and began clapping for these young
unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us so we can go to school, work and home without fear or reprisal.
Just when I thought I could not be more proud of my country or of our
Service men and women, a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old ran up to one of the male soldiers. He kneeled down and said 'hi.'
The little girl then asked him if he would give something to
her daddy for her.
The young soldier, who didn't look any older than maybe 22 himself,
said he would try and what did she want to give to her daddy. Then
suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the biggest hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek.
The mother of the little girl, who said her daughter's name was
Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband was a Marine and had
been in Iraq for 11 months now. As the mom was explaining how much her
daughter Courtney missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up.
When this temporarily single mom was done explaining her situation, all of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second. Then one of the other servicemen pulled out a military-looking walkie-talkie. They
started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it.
After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to Courtney, bent down and said this to her, 'I spoke to your daddy and he told me to give this to you.' He then hugged this little girl that he had just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He finished by saying 'your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and he is coming home very soon.'
The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young soldier stood to his feet, he saluted Courtney and her mom. I was standing no more than 6 feet away from this entire event.
As the soldiers began to leave, heading towards their gate, people
resumed their applause. As I stood there applauding and looked around,
there were very few dry eyes, including my own. That young soldier in
one last act of selflessness, turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney with a tear rolling down his cheek.
We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families and thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day, it's good to be an American.
RED FRIDAYS ----- Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the 'silent majority'. We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers.
We are not organized, boisterous or over-bearing.. We get no liberal
media coverage on TV, to reflect our message or our opinions. Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize
that the vast majority of America supports our troops.
Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity
and respect starts this Friday -and continues each and every Friday
until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that.. Every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar will wear something red.
By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every
Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers.
If every one of us who loves this country will share this with
acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family. It will not be long
before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the
once 'silent' majority is on their side more than ever; certainly more
than the media lets on.
The first thing a soldier says when asked 'What can we do to make things better for you?' is...We need your support and your prayers.
Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example; and wear something red every Friday.
As a Company, Southwest Airlines is going to support 'Red Fridays'.
